What is a good camera for a beginner for real?
I've had cameras before, but just point and shoot $ 50 Wal-Mart special. Nothing even remotely decent holiday just something that was not disposable. Now I'm starting to gain an interest in photography and want a digital camera very nice. I'm not sure if I want an advanced point and shoot (the Sony Cyber-Shot H50 caught my attention) or low / medium end DSLR (Canon Rebel XS, which I heard great things about). I am on a flexible budget, preferably not more than $ 500. In fact, right now only has $ 300 saved. But I'm willing to save for a couple of months if it means a better camera. I would also like to note that while I am far from stupid, I have frequent blonde moments and something that is well advanced is go right over my head.
