How do you get most of the vault, if your shop, then? I'm so small that scars me to go over it?
Yes, I understand. I was (and still am) very short. It is actually higher than many of the gymnasts, and meant to be. That's why there's a trampoline in front of it, not just to get their bounce and maintain momentum, but to really get to the vault. There is no way you can do the vault when you're scared. Really there is nothing to fear. Vault is my least favorite device, but I'm certainly not afraid of it (already). Run fast and not slow down when you get the dome. Sure do not jump or turn over once you reach the vault. Keep your arms tight and push the dome (no matter what you're doing). Good luck in the gym and have confidence! Do not be afraid of the vault!
